The two-block haircut is a modern, structured style that’s especially popular among Asian men for its clean contrast and versatility. The defining feature is the clear separation between two “blocks” of hair: a shorter, tightly trimmed section on the sides and back, and a longer, fuller section on top.
In this cut, the sides and back are usually clipped short—sometimes faded, sometimes kept at a uniform length—while the top is left significantly longer. Unlike a traditional undercut, the transition between these sections can be either sharp and disconnected or softly blended, depending on the desired look. The longer top can then be styled in different ways: parted (often with a middle or “comma” part), swept to the side, textured for volume, or left slightly tousled for a more relaxed feel.
The two-block works particularly well with straight, thick hair, which is common among many Asian men, because it holds shape and volume easily. It frames the face by keeping bulk at the crown while reducing heaviness around the ears and neckline, giving a balanced, youthful appearance.
Overall, it’s a flexible haircut that can range from polished and professional to casual and trendy, depending on how the top is cut and styled.
